Cnn posted today that Larry Flynt and Joe Francis are applying for a porn industry bail out. All I’d like to say is, being a very small fish in a very large pond, how do I apply for my portion of the $5 billion should it be granted?
I’ve seen my income drop since late October. And this causes a trickle down effect in my home town. I can’t afford to go out and eat as often. We really watch our WalMart shopping expenditures. (Heh, its the only gig in town to shop at). Dollars have been taken out of the local economy, because I’m not making as much as I used to.
Now think if some of the huge companies are also seeing losses, and how much less that has put into the economy, and I can see how this would have an effect. Lets face it, a $12 billion a year industry is going to have a major impact on the economy in America.
I like what Flynt said:
But the industry leaders said the issue is a nation in need. “People are too depressed to be sexually active,” Flynt said in the statement. “This is very unhealthy as a nation. Americans can do without cars and such but they cannot do without sex.”
“With all this economic misery and people losing all that money, sex is the farthest thing from their mind. It’s time for congress to rejuvenate the sexual appetite of America. The only way they can do this is by supporting the adult industry and doing it quickly.”
Our husband and I have noticed this. We are working 12 hour days trying to get our income up. Heck, it is 10:00pm, and I’m still working and yet to kick back and relax. I look at naked pictures all day, and stressing out over bills has us getting down and dirty a lot less often then we used to.
I have a hard time believing this will ever be granted, but as one small timer who would like to open a paysite, and would LOVE to have the capital to do so, just let me know how and where to sign up…I’ll be there!

I haven’t written about the economy, because I like keeping this blog more of an upbeat blog with juicy pics for women. But I have to admit, it has been a roller coaster ride for this pornographer the last few weeks just like everyone else in America.
The day after the Dow Jones fell over 700 points the first time, my sales were about $5.00 for the day. Now given I am 100% self employed, I panicked. Unlike some in this industry, who have spouses who might have a job offline, I don’t. My husband and I spread our time between our adult sites, and some craft things we do at local craft fairs. $5.00 a day will not pay the mortgage, so I doubled up on the time spent on promoting my porn.
It has paid off. My sales ended up in September being just slightly down from August despite about a week of very slow sales. And so far this month, they are looking like they will be back on track to improve slightly over last month.
Porn, thankfully, is one industry that tends to be recession resistant. When people can’t spend money on gas to take trips, and costs of everything is rising higher and higher because of transportation costs of getting your physical goods to you, porn prices have stayed stable, or gone down slightly. So you are getting more bang for your buck in porn as an entertainment source, then almost anything else. That is good news to those of us who make a living at this.
I’m not getting rich in porn, in fact I barely cover my bills with a little extra for food and necessary expenses. I don’t live in a lavish home, or travel around the world. I grow organic veggies in a backyard garden to save money, and ride a little 49cc scooter whenever possible to save on gas prices. Splurging to me is being able to buy a DVD to watch with my hubby. In other words, I’m like a lot of Americans in the lower middle class bracket who hope the next president helps us with health care costs, and reduced taxes.
So I wish to say for all the surfers who have signed up for adult sites I promote on my blog. Thanks. I really appreciate it. Your support keeps me going, keeps food on my table, and gas in my scooter tank. Support the economy, buy porn!
