For anyone who has read my blog before, it now is in a different location, and looks…well…like a REAL blog. My old blog was written with a sofware platform called pm machine. It was a program that had a forum board that happened to have a blog-like module in it, and I used that module for blogging.
Problem was, you couldn’t get any kind of seo style urls, tagging was not possible. Plus you couldn’t get all the nifty plug-ins that WordPress offers.
So when my husband said he wanted to start his own blog, and I’m the scripter, I realized I had to learn WordPress.
I have no idea why I was so intimidated by it! It was sooo easy to install. (they are not kidding on the 5 minute install). And I had it up and running with some posts and my theme in a few hours.
Then I tried to import my old blog, and it really messed up the code big time. *sigh* I finally now have all the posts it imported corrected, but it left off about, oh 2 years of posts that I’ll have to eventually try to import.
But I’m glad my hubby kinda forced me to do it. I’m really happy with the results.
